KontentFire ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our AI-powered social media content automation platform.

By using KontentFire, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Name (optional)
• Password (stored only as a one-way hash, never in plain text)
• Billing information (processed securely by Stripe)

Social Media Connections

When you connect social media accounts, we use OAuth authentication provided by each platform. We do not store your social media passwords. We receive access tokens that allow us to post content on your behalf, and to read the posts and engagement on the Pages you connect.

Comments on your posts

When you open one of your posts in KontentFire, we read and display the comments on that post, including each comment's text, the commenter's public name, and the date it was posted. We read these comments live from Facebook each time you open the post, and we do not store them.

We read comments only on Pages you own and have connected yourself, and only to show them back to you. We never reply to them, moderate them, or act on them for you. We do not read private messages, comments on Pages you do not own, or any other person's content anywhere else on Facebook. We never sell this data or share it with third parties. We use it only to show you your own performance and to let our assistant suggest what to post next.

Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you use our service, including:

• Content you create and schedule
• Features you use
• Time and date of your visits
• Device and browser information

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our services
• Generate and publish content to your connected social media accounts
• Process your transactions and send related information
• Send you technical notices, updates, and support messages
• Respond to your comments and questions
• Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

• Service Providers: We use outside services to run KontentFire: Stripe (payments); Anthropic, Google and OpenAI (writing posts, making pictures and checking content; Google also provides sign-in with Google, bot checks on the sign-in forms and fonts); Groq (learning your writing style from your edits); Perplexity (research for longer posts); DataForSEO (looking up your business details during setup); Resend (email); Render, Supabase, Cloudflare and Cloudinary (hosting, database and file storage); Replit (a developer script the app currently loads); and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and LinkedIn (publishing to the accounts you connect). This website is hosted by Vercel. Google Analytics and HeyCatch measure visits to it, and the free writing tools send what you type, with your IP address for usage limits, to a Cloudflare service that asks Anthropic to write the post.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred

Data Security

We protect your data in these ways:

• Connected accounts: The access keys for the social accounts you connect are encrypted with AES-256-GCM when they are saved
• In transit: The website and the app are served only over HTTPS
• Passwords: Stored only as a one-way hash, never in plain text
• Payments: Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers
• OAuth Authentication: We never store your social media passwords

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Portability: Request your data in a portable format
• Objection: Object to certain processing of your data

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account from your account settings, we delete your account data straight away, apart from a record of admin actions on your account and some older images, which we remove on request. Stripe keeps its own records of past payments, and we may keep information where the law requires it.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

• Keep you signed in to your account
• Remember your preferences
• Understand how you use our service (this website uses Google Analytics and HeyCatch to measure visits)
• Improve our platform based on usage patterns
